Carpet washing in winter: drying schedule and bagging

Load at night, deliver in the morning. How to run the drying room efficiently through winter and eliminate the yellowing risk.

Published:

Working in batches

Run the drying room in shifts: carpets washed during the day are hung in the evening, the unit runs overnight, the room is emptied in the morning and the second batch goes in. The experience our customers share shows that morning delivery is realistic with this routine.

Humidity sensor and timer

Set the target humidity and time; the unit stops at the target. Instead of changing settings, manage the load: when the room is packed, air cannot circulate between the hangers.

Final check before bagging

Press the thickest part of the carpet (fringe base, edge binding) with your hand; if it feels cool or damp, do not bag it. A carpet bagged before it is fully dry traps its own moisture, and that is where yellowing and mould start. One more hour of drying is always cheaper than a late delivery.

Maintenance calendar

  • Dust filter: check after every batch, wash when needed.
  • Rear radiator coils: clean once a week.
  • Drain hose: check for blockage and freezing.
